A great story, easy to read, and informative about Australian government regulations towards parents who are not competent to look after their own kids. It is a sad litany of the realities and failings of the family court and the other associated Government departments that exist to supposedly protect the interests of vulnerable cme.

When Fat ends up pregnant after a while, Med tries to be happy because he loves Fat and he is a proud granddad. Just a small issue, but still a great read. It’s a superb and haunting read and perhaps one of the best Australian fiction books I’ve read. The two older children, Karen and Paul, nicknamed Kat and Blue, are old enough to get on with their schooling and work lives. I am telling anyone who cares to listen to me to read one of Caroline’s books even if it’s not the kind they normally read carolind I am sure they will enjoy them.
I This is a most outstanding book. As we know from the past, turning them over to Church-run institutes proved to be a disaster, a crime of mammoth proportions; largely because the carers were judgmental and haughty, looking on those who ovdrington help as sinners and losers.

Even though it’s fictional, the story could indeed be real. He treats his wife very poorly, due to his lack of empathy and understand A very powerful story, cleverly told, full of complex, difficult issues and emotional tugs.

I finished this book last night with tears in my eyes. Kat goes to high school and university in Sydney before departing for New York; while Blue goes opal hunting in Lightning Ridge.
