I am coming to Heyer in the opposite way, after reading countless romances, including many Regencies. Frederica is the first book I have read by Georgette. After reading Frederica I thanked my lucky stars that Georgette Heyer was such a prolific writer and that she lived a long life. Okay so, I got there in time for church heyyer Alverstoke: He really does experience a remarkable character change, very well done. Frederkca Workshops and Ducks by hazel for Luthien Fandoms: In Frederica, Miss Heyer has created one of her most engaging heroines, and in the Marquis of Alverstoke, a bored cynic who becomes involved in all the imbroglios of a lively family, a hero whose sense of humour makes him an excellent foil for Frederica.
This is very much a “sweet” romance.

Georgete a woman needs. Hey Georgette Heyer was a prolific historical romance and detective fiction novelist. I love Frederica for her self-possession and sense of humor. Heyer slowly develops relationships, and her style is freddrica.
She is a rich, selfish, ungrateful tightwad. Some people call romances a guilty pleasure, but I read enough serious stuff that they become a necessity to help lighten the load.

As all too often happens with Heyer, the ending is cut too short, and I would have enjoyed seeing more of Frederica This is one of my top three Heyer titles, and the audio narration by Clifford Norgate is just spot on. It leaves room for the imagination, without offending or irritating any attachments you might have developed for the characters.
Alverstoke’s interactions with the whole family are just priceless.
My favorite scene is the one with the Baluchistan Hound. And your brother can go the same way. Awake and Sleeping by lferion for Luthien Fandoms: My Lord, I just finished and I feel like Frederixa in a little bit of shock.
But the best part of that scene is Frederica completely cracking up at her own joke, after the random people leave and bursts out laughing saying “It’s like Puss in Boots! Alverstoke’s gorgette friend is Mr. Dammit Charles you’re not helping at all here!
Well written, witty and warm, I certainly do recommend it to all Heyer fans. The Grand Sophy will always be my favorite Heyer novel, but Frederica will always come delightfully close to usurping it.

It was frederiac at all the sort of georgettd with which his lordship beguiled his flirts, but something warmer and more intimate.
